POWER OF 100 WOMEN

The Michigan Women’s Foundation has developed a program, the POWER OF 100 WOMEN, engages a broad cross section of women whom we need to provide both intellectual and financial support for our organization in the coming years for it to survive and prosper.  We target the following women for inclusion in this program:

• Women who have previously been involved with MWF (former board members, financial supporters)
• Women who have been honored by MWF
• Michigan women pioneers/leaders
• Women business and community leaders

The POWER OF 100 WOMEN Program

The program will create a group of 100 WOMEN who will help guide MWF through the next three years.  This group will commit to becoming a ‘kitchen cabinet’ – identifying critical issues, serving as a sounding board and providing wise counsel to the Board, the CEO and MWF. In addition, they will agree to collectively provide much needed operational support and funding to MWF by each person contributing a minimum gift of $1,000 per year for the next three years to MWF.

• An annual special event for the POWER OF 100 WOMEN to receive an update on MWF’s progress and provide input on the goals and activities of the Foundation
• Invitations to special MWF events
• Preferred seating and special recognition at the MWF dinners
• The opportunity to utilize one’s skills and expertise for a critical cause –finding the most effective ways to assist Michigan women and girls to become self-sufficient
• The heartfelt gratitude of a statewide community treasure – the Michigan Women’s Foundation

The Benefits to MWF

• MWF will have a group of leaders to guide and help lead MWF as it seeks to re-establish itself as a critical voice for women and fund essential programs to help Michigan women and girls
• Collective wisdom and support from Michigan’s  most powerful women leaders from business and the community
• An operational fund that would allow us to modernize and redevelop MWF as a viable organization
  • Purchase, installation and utilization of a modern computer and database management system for donors
  • Ability to conduct research and create an interactive website on Michigan women’s issues and concerns and identify how MWF is helping find solutions
  • Building an organizational infrastructure that creates the state’s only Women’s Enterprise Fund in 2010 to help fund women’s entrepreneurial start-ups and bring businesses, jobs and economic recovery to Michigan.

NOTE: Many women who are supporting the POWER of 100 WOMEN are making semi-annual, quarterly or monthly payments. We do not want to discourage any woman from joining a POWER of 100 WOMEN who is concerned about having to pay $1,000 in one payment.
